This original 1960’s split level ranch was ready to be revamped to today’s living standards and modern design. One of the driving factors in the design process was finding a way to un-split the split level, at least the look of it. By raising the wall heights to 10’ on the public side of the house and re-framing the roof lines, not only the did exterior elevation get a balanced look, but the interiors also benefited from the taller ceilings. Adding a living room off the back of the house and a new screened porch, the house grew its footprint by almost 700sf, giving some much needed relief to the old cramped interior. Full custom inset cabinetry topped with natural marble and soapstone counters, this house was completely refinished and ready to host!

Both graduates of Auburn University's Architecture program, our interests in both design and construction in the residential realm began to take root during our time spent in Hale County at the Rural Studio program.
